What I learnt from Harry Potter

Harry Potter has been on hit for more than 20 years now, yet its still flaming inside my heart. Ever wondered why fans love Harry Potter so much? To me, I think it is of the deep meanings amongst. Some are touching, inspiring... they are amazing. Here are some that I enjoy the most:

Love

Harry’s parents died for him when he was just 1. Why? Out of love. Nothing can beat the feeling of love, with love you’ll be willing to do anything. As Dumbledore says, ‘Do not pity the dead. Pity the living, and above all, those who live without love.’ While love can be a harmful thing from times, without love, we could turn into something more horrible than we’d ever imagine. Take Voldemort for example, because he was born under a love potion, he isn’t able to love. Which is why he is as cold as he is now. Let’s just say that we don’t want to lose a nose! ;)

Confidence

Harry, Hermione and Ron (AKA the Golden Trio) are all sorted into Gryffindor. I think all the qualities of the 4 houses are equally important to me, so I was actually quite surprised when they all got sorted into Gryffindor. But why did J.K. Rowling have to do that? I think the most special quality of Gryffindors is most definitely Bravery. In here, I may think of self confidence. Weird actually, that this quality includes such a lot of quotes. But here is the one that touches me the most: ‘I am what I am, and I’m not ashamed.’ From Hagrid. Everyone has their own good in them. Even Slytherins. In fact, one of my best friends is a Slytherin and she’s ever so talented. We should try to appreciate ourselves more, look at the good side of things, and no matter what, I am sure with a bit of momentum, you can do it!

Friendship

Harry, Hermione and Ron became great friends since the first book, and they went through tough times together, leading to their final defeat towards Voldemort. Friends are one of the greatest things you could have, they support you and bear hard times with you. A friend is all you need to survive through chaos, and we should really try to cherish these priceless treasures.
